There has been inpatient psychiatry in the Rheingau since 1815, which is now called Vitos Rheingau. Since 1849 it has been based on the Eichberg, one of the most scenic locations in the upper Rheingau. Vitos Rheingau runs clinics for psychiatry and psychotherapy, for psychosomatic medicine, for child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. In addition, there is the community psychiatric area of the accompanying psychiatric services with social offers for chronically mentally ill people. Vitos Rheingau employs around 870 people at the locations in Bad Homburg, Eltville, Idstein, Kelkheim and Wiesbaden.
