The temple garden goes back to the "Old Fritz", who was here in Neuruppin in 1732 as a young, 20 -year-old Fritz from his father appointed regimental commander. He had a garden set up here, which actually served as a garden, but was also used for musical performances and as a meeting place for officers. Later, the merchant family Gentz bought the area and gave it the current shape.
