The Hirschsprung is a memorial in southern Lower Saxony between the towns of Holtershausen and Greene in the Greener Forest, which uses two memorial stones to indicate a special event from 1606. On August 26, 1606, a great hunt took place near Holtershausen. Duke Heinrich Julius placed a memorial stone on a stag that was shot there, known as the "Hirschsprung".
