The ringwall lies on a small, after W advanced mountain tongue, the
distinctly offset from the adjacent Jurahochfläche by a saddle
is. The area enclosed by the fortification is about 200 X 50 m. The Wall, which was recently disturbed in its W area, crosses the
stronger endangered eastern flank sections of the rampart. In this area
it is preceded by a partially preserved trench. The inner one
Wall height here amounts to 1.5 m, the difference between rampart and grabensole
5.5 m. In the middle of the south section, there is a gap in the ringwall
an old entrance. This ringwall surrounds the O and S protective
second fastening system, which, following the contour lines, in S and SO is recognizable only as an artificial division. In O it goes into a short
Section wall with an upstream, damaged by culverts
    Ditch over.
250 m to the east, thus already beyond the saddle between the spur and the Alb plateau, an outer strong fortification system crosses the ridge. The section wall with O neck upstream trench, which pulls down a slope in the N and S, is an entrance barrier to
actual attachment (Vorwerk). 1925 was at the breakthrough one of the two
Section walls found a early medieval horseshoe. Out of the area
The ringwalls contain some prehistoric fragments (Mus. Bamberg).
The nature of the structure of this attachment suggests that they are in
    Carolingian-Ottonian period.

The best access to the facility is off-grid at the location of the specified HL about 30 meters from the trail and about 6 meters up the steep rampart.
Once at the top there is a small Oha effect. In this SO area you can best see the ramparts in the area and follow the course on the wall in the southern area about 100 m. That gives a sufficient impression.
The whole area is wooded and in the N and W strongly accompanied by undergrowth. I followed the wall completely around the plant, that does not have to be :-(
Without the vegetation you can see from here all over Bamberg with the Regnitz and Main valley from Buttenheim to Baunach and Viereth. Perfectly chosen place.
