The Hoenderboom was a historically important crossroads where five municipalities met, now reduced to two by reorganizations. There is a replica of the old boundary marker. Nearby is the Grafven, where in 1595 women accused of witchcraft were murdered by local witch hunters.

On the Strabrechtse Heide there is an old boundary marker, the Hoenderboom, where the borders of Heeze, Mierlo, Lierop, Someren and Sterksel used to meet. These borders are still partly visible in the form of roads, ditches and ramparts.
