The Equestrian Statue of Dom José I is located in Praça do Comércio in Lisbon, Portugal. It was created by sculptor Joaquim Machado de Castro in 1775. This statue is notable for being the first equestrian statue made in Portugal and also the first public sculptural monument dedicated to a living person in the country.
