Cape Town, South Africa, also hosts a street art festival with which The Crystal Ship has set up an exchange. In 2023, Elléna Lourens took over for South Africa – a young artist whose sensational, emotional work breaks with the busy, colorful street art tradition. Lourens creates very poetic murals with as few lines and colors as possible, and she is undeniably a breath of fresh air in the street art landscape.
