    Here was one of the oldest European highways, the Via Agrippinensis, from Cologne to Calais. It was built in the 1st century AD in connection with the attachment of the Roman Rhine border.

    From the 2nd century milestones were set up, which indicated the distance to Cologne. Five exemplary milestones (partly copies) show the development of Roman and Prussian land surveying. An information board explains the history of the street.
