The Villa Rustica is located right next to the Römersee from the Bad Rappenauer Ortseil Zimmerhof. At the time of the Roman Empire there was a large estate here, a so-called "villa rustica". Remains of the foundation walls of the main building of the estate can still be seen, which gives a good impression of the original size of the property. The building measures 23x32 meters in a square and represents a common form of Roman manors in the Neckarland and Kraichgau. Living and utility rooms were housed under one roof. The north and west wings, especially the basement in the northwest, had been best preserved. They were therefore restored and given new screed floors. The south and east wing of the building and the extensions in the east and south-east have been indicated by stone slabs since the restoration. The entire complex was probably surrounded by a courtyard wall.

Wonderfully quiet place off the road from Siegelsbach to Zimmerhof.
The best way to drive the economic and cycle path to and from Siegelsbach, if you want to pass here. The road, which you have to cross on the farm road just before, is not such a good alternative, because it is driven quite fast.
The ruin is well worth seeing and at the Römersee it is great to relax and make a little break.
