This monument is dedicated to the German soldiers who fell in the battles of Wissembourg, Woerth and at the siege of Paris. It was the King's 7th Grenadier Regiment of the 5th Prussian Corps, which was the hardest hit during the fighting as it lost more than 350 officers and soldiers, killed or wounded, during the assault on Geisberg Castle.
