The KInzigsee was created - just like the neighboring Ruhlsee - through the renaturation of a former sand and gravel pit, which had provided large quantities of building materials required for the construction of the neighboring A66 and A45. The Kinzigsee today consists of a large lido area with a restaurant and - separated from it - the area reserved for anglers and pedal boaters. The Kinzigsee is a top highlight for local recreation!
