Limes Trail to Römerkastell Heidenstock

Instead of like before - through an idyllic forest - this path (part of the Limes hiking trail, by the way) now leads more or less through a lunar landscape 😖
At least you now have a great view here... e.g. of the Butzbacher local mountain and far into the Wetterau... or of the Frankfurt skyline and as far as the Odenwald!

Beautiful trail to the Roman fort Heidenstock.
The section leads over stony paths and root trails.

In the end, however, you will be rewarded with a piece of Roman history - the Roman fort Heidenstock.

This path leads to the two Roman fortifications on the Feldberg. Here it is really fun to drive as experienced mountain bikers. Downhill or uphill. At the earthen castle from the Saalburg there is also a bank where you can rest.
