Cycling Highlight (Segment)

This Highlight goes through a protected area
Please check local regulations for: Veluwezoom
This beautiful wide gravel path is part of the official MTB route Veluwezoom. To cycle here, the MTB sticker from Natuurmonumenten is mandatory.
Halfway through the segment, the route takes a 90-degree bend and the character changes from a wide gravel road to a single track. Both parts are beautiful and easy to cycle with a gravel bike. Please note that cycling here is two-way traffic... so you can expect oncoming traffic on the single tracks. Make sure you keep following the MTB signs, the part of the Tunnekesweg over the heath is prohibited for cyclists and there are regular patrols.
Fun fact: this trail runs right along the geographically highest point of the Veluwe and the Netherlands, outside South Limburg.
Fun fact 2: towards the west you cycle past Teroose, the former ruins of a Nazi German antenna during the Second World War. This entire area was forbidden access at the time.
