Please note: The Emma Pyramid, the tower that can be climbed, is temporarily closed. All routes are still accessible. The tower itself cannot be climbed for safety reasons. This is temporary, as maintenance still needs to be scheduled.

The Bovenallee climb (known locally as the 'Emma Piramide' after the wooden Emma Piramide tower / viewing point, just off the top of the climb) is a nasty short and beautiful climb. It even features the only hairpin corner of the Netherlands (outside of the south tip of Limburg).
It's a great little climb to push it hard. When making the descent, please be careful in the corners at the bottom of the descent as they are sharp and you don't always have a clear view on the rest of the road.

Nice to combine with the other climbs on the Posbank. From the Emmapiramide you can cycle all the way from the country estate Beekhuizen (Beekhuizenseweg) to the tea house on top of the Posbank, then turn left there down the descent of the Steeg, then follow the cattle grid at the bottom right and then before the railway crossing right the provincial road to Arnhem and go up again at the Rozenbos road and then at the tea house at the top turn left again to Rheden (descent watch out for cars). At the bottom follow the provincial road to Arnhem again and at the roundabout at the end of Rheden turn right up the Snippendaalse road. Then you can do another round yourself or add some variation towards Arnhem, Laag-Soeren, Rheden, de Steeg or descend and choose the flat

Beautiful winding climb that takes you towards the Posbank. From here you can go in different directions and you will gain the necessary altitude. Enjoy!

The famous Emma Pyramide is a absolute must do! Hairpin turns on Dutch roads aren't very common, so make sure you enjoy the ones that are on this short and punchy climb!

Hairpin bends in the east of the Netherlands! What a luxury.

Hairpin bends in the Netherlands, what more could you want? Can be combined very well with a climb towards the Zijpenberg / Posbank from Velp.

Not too long a climb, but challenging enough and a nice one to train climbing. This can also be combined well with the ascent of the Posbank and thus have 2 climbing sections in 1 route.

The Emma Pyramid is located in the Veluwezoom National Park, near the village of Rozendaal. The road leading to the Emma Pyramid is generally well-maintained and provides a safe environment for climbing. Traffic is usually minimal, especially during quieter times. Upon reaching the Emma Pyramid summit, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Veluwezoom and the surrounding nature. It's a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenery before beginning your descent.

Climbing the Emma Pyramid not only presents a physical challenge but also offers an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of Veluwezoom. It's a must for cyclists who enjoy discovering new routes and testing their climbing skills. The average gradient of the climb varies between 3% and 5%, with some steeper sections towards the summit. The climb to the Emma Pyramid is approximately 1.5 to 2 kilometers long, depending on the route chosen, with an elevation gain of about 50 to 70 meters.

Nice climbing, and the road is clear and not too busy.

When you climb the Emma pyramid from Rozendaal, there are now a number of road narrowings in the way. So keep in mind that you may have to stop when oncoming traffic arrives.

The area is quiet outside the weekends. and you can get tired, with some altitude meters.
