The Tchorka plaque at 55 Odyńca Street commemorates the 1944 uprising in the area of the so-called "Alkazar" redoubt. Two unfinished buildings ("Alkazar I" and "Alkazar II") at the intersection of Odyńca and Niepodległości Avenue were defended by soldiers of the O Company of the 1st AK Regiment "Baszta" until September 25, 1944. It commemorates the fallen defenders who put up long-term resistance to the German occupier.
