Mentioned in 1385 as "dore by unser Frowen" (Church of Our Lady). The name "Dragon's Hole," found on city maps from 1784 onward, dates back to a medieval dragon game banned by Bishop Sigismund II (1553-1566).
The wall area and the remains of the gate were renovated in 2014. An iron gate hinge was uncovered. On the wall, drag marks from transport through this oldest entrance to the episcopal cathedral castle can still be seen.
