In 1640 the two brothers Willem and Jacob Croll built the San Lorenzo chapel and the Wurfeld Castle. The first building consisted of two floors, a vaulted cellar and a moat. These elements still form the core of the building today. There is a plaque in the tower with the Croll family coat of arms.
