The Sengbachtalsperre (popularly also called "Solinger dam") is located in a secluded side valley of the Wupper not far from castle Burg, between the Solingen district Höhrath and Glüder. The water reservoir located in the midst of green forests supplies the inhabitants of the city of Solingen with drinking water. For this reason, the building is popularly usually referred to only as Solinger dam.
