The Kurhaus was built in 1906 by the architect Lehmann from Halle/Saale. Rebuilt several times over the past century, the Kurhaus was reconstructed in 2007/2008 with great attention to detail in its former Art Nouveau splendor.

The left wing of the Kurhaus is reserved for culture, where spa concerts are regularly held. The concert hall also serves as an outpost of the registry office. Weddings overlooking the spa park are very popular.

The right wing houses the spa administration. In the center of the Wandelhalle, an impressive granite fountain provides the two healing waters Lullus and Vitalis, used as a drinking cure, and the excellent Bad Hersfeld drinking water.

Since 2015, the Wandelhalle has also been used as an exhibition space.
