The moated castle was first mentioned at the end of the 13th century as the seat of the Knights of Bergerhausen. In the 15th century, it was expanded into a fortified complex with battery towers, an impressive example of which has survived. In the 19th century, the castle was converted into the current palace. Surrounded by a pond and a park, Bergerhausen Castle is now available for stylish celebrations and as a location for filming. The Kerpen registry office conducts weddings here.
