Niederbolheim Castle is located in the Niederbolheim district of Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft district, North Rhine-Westphalia, directly on the federal highway 477.A moth was first mentioned in 1341, with the name castrum Boylnheym. It was the seat of the Knights of Bolheim. Later it went to the Spies von Büllesheim. That is why Niederbolheim Castle was also called Spiesburg.In 1870 a new manor called Burg Niederbolheim was built near the former site.
