In the 13th century, there were three city gates in Waiblingen. The Beinstein Gate Tower is the only one that has been preserved to this day. It is still called "Säuturm" until today, because in the past the pigs were driven through the Beinsteiner archway to pasture. The tower once served as a municipal prison, as the "Oberamtsgerichtsgefängnis" and today the tower houses a small museum of Hungarian-German displaced persons.

The Beinsteiner Tor tower, which was renovated in 1978, is 37.30 meters high, five-storey and almost quatratisch. On the side facing away from the city there are three reliefs: the coat of arms of Count Eberhard V. together with the coat of arms Waiblinger of 1491 and two Sgrafittogemälde from 1938 with city-historical events.

The city with the three towers - that's what Eduard Mörike once called Waiblingen. And that's true today. The poet referred to the tower, the tower of Michael's church and the Beinstein gate tower. The towers and walls of the medieval city fortification give Waiblingen in fact a defensive appearance.

The Beinstein gate tower used to be called Säuturm because the pigs were driven through the gate into the pasture. In the last century he was a municipal and a superior prison. Today he houses the Museum of Csávolyer, the German-born population from southern Hungary, for the Waiblingen sponsorship.

The Beinstein Gate Tower is located on the edge of the old town, right on the Rems. It is the only surviving city gate of the medieval town of Waiblingen. It is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday until 2 p.m.
