In 1906, the Schlundhaus was rebuilt based on the Merkel House, with magnificent bay windows and all the richness of its forms.
Schlundhaus means town hall and town cellar. In 1874, the town hall on the market burned down. Thus, the "Zum Stern" house became the Schlundhaus of the Henneberg family.
It is now a hotel and restaurant.
