The oldest mention of a chapel on this site, "Chapelle de Vanmaele" dates from 1833
Later owners included P-F de Borchgrave, receiver, and Ivo Van Witberghe, pastor of the church council in 1888.
The former chapel was demolished and rebuilt (April 2005).
