Kaisergarten Oberhausen – A Diverse Park with Nature, Culture, and Leisure

The Kaisergarten is one of the oldest and most popular parks in the Ruhr area. Spanning approximately 28 hectares, the park stretches from the Rhine-Herne Canal to Konrad-Adenauer-Allee and offers a diverse mix of nature, animal enclosures, culture, and leisure opportunities.

Laid out at the end of the 19th century in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm I, the Kaisergarten has developed into a landscape conservation area with ancient plane trees as natural monuments. A highlight is the free animal enclosure, which houses over 500 animals of various species, including alpacas, deer, goats, and ponies. Visitors can feed and pet many of the animals, and automatic feeders are distributed throughout the park.

The spectacular pedestrian bridge "Slinky Springs to Fame" is a cultural landmark in the park. This colorful, spiral-shaped work of art connects the Kaisergarten with the adjacent sports park and is a popular photo opportunity at night.

For families and athletes, there are several playgrounds, mini golf, archery, beach volleyball, and a skate park. In summer, sunbathing lawns and a small lake invite you to relax.

The park is easily accessible: by car via the A516 or A42. Parking is available, some of which are subject to a fee. Public transport takes you to the "Schloss" stop on bus line 956.

The Kaisergarten is freely accessible year-round and offers visitors of all ages a diverse experience of nature, culture, and leisure.
