Our Lady of the Emergency Chapel is situated on a triangular plot, flanked by two cypress trees. The existing ones have already been mentioned in the second half of the 18th century (1771-1772).
Chapel was restored in 1941, according to the bluestone memorial stone in the footpath, thanks to a generous gift from Mr Gerard Hollaert.

There has been much discussion about the name "Onze Lieve Vrouw ter Nood". After all, this name can have two meanings. The first is O.L. Vrouw ter Nood als Nood Gods Nood or the O.L. Vrouw van Sorrows, the Pieta. The second meaning is about the help that Mary could give to people in need.
Both the statue in the chapel and the inscription "Mater Dolorosa ora pro nobis" leave no misunderstanding: the first meaning is clearly intended here: Mary mourning, sad about her son Jesus who died on the cross.
