It all began in 1905 at the initiative of Father Wincenty Tymieniecki, a parish priest from nearby Słomczyn. His idea of building a temple for the paper mill workers in Jeziorna (in the factory estate popularly known as Mirków) began to be realized after a 52-person construction committee was established. The paper mill board granted a plot of land for the church. Thanks to voluntary donations from the factory workers and residents of Jeziorna and financial support from the manufacturer Edward Natanson, the work progressed quickly. On May 20, 1907, the cornerstone was ceremonially consecrated. Two years later, the workers were able to use the new church, built in the neo-Gothic style, designed by Hugo Kudera. The temple did not have its own priest (it was not a parish church, but a branch church). Sunday liturgy was celebrated by priests coming from Słomczyn.
