The narrow-gauge railway from Wawer to Karczew via Falenica, Józefów, Świder and Otwock was launched in 1914. The bridge dates from 1912. The train transported holidaymakers from Warsaw to boarding houses located in these towns. During the occupation, additionally, or perhaps above all, food smugglers from Karczew (supposedly called Prosiaków at the time) traveled along it with food smugglers for Warsaw. Finally, the railway stopped running in 1963. Here and there, you can still see the remains of the embankment, the station buildings serve residential purposes, and the bridge is basically used only for pedestrian traffic.
