Hiking Highlight
Recommended by 20 hikers
Anyone with even the slightest interest in space travel and astronomy will experience a fascinating and fulfilling day here. In addition to the exhibits in the Visitor Complex, with the Space Shuttle Atlantis as the highlight, a trip to the Apollo/Saturn V Center with the impressive Saturn V rocket is highly recommended. This gives you a glimpse of the entire facility, including the monstrous Vehicle Assembly Building and the "mobile vehicles" for the rockets and space shuttles at Launch Complex 39. I was also fortunate enough to witness the launch of a Falcon rocket from the Banana Creek Launch Viewpoint—an opportunity you should definitely take advantage of. by no means let the high entrance fee ($ 57) scare you ... it's worth it ... including a 45min bus ride across the entire and extensive area.

The even bigger highlight of the Kennedy Space Center can only be seen after a bus ride to the Apollo Center.
You don't necessarily have to do the "rides" here, they are rather unspectacular, especially if you also visit Disney World (Epcot).
