Countess Matia Theresia von Schönborn (1698-1751) was a great philanthropist. She had many buildings constructed in Heusenstamm. For example, the wonderful and very worth seeing Catholic Church of St. Cecilia was built between 1739 and 1741 thanks to her work. The Old Town Hall, which was built in 1744 as a schoolhouse and orphanage, is also the result of her social commitment.

The Maria Theresa fountain was inaugurated as part of the station festival in May 2007. The work of art in honor of the countess was created by the well-known sculptor Hubertus von Pilgrim. Through the numerous buildings, Maria Theresa provided work for local craftsmen such as roofers, bricklayers, blacksmiths, joiners, wheelwrights and carpenters. But the countess did not only provide work for her subjects. She also regulated trade, regulated the parish salaries and, above all, looked after the poor, for whom she set up several foundations.
