Wittenberg Castle and Castle Church

After the major renovation, the castle shines in new splendor. The castle was plastered for the first time.

The Wittenberg Castle Church is probably the most famous and popular destination in Wittenberg's old town. The world-famous theses door, today a popular photo motif, is no longer the original door on which Luther probably nailed his 95 theses.

The renovated castle, to which the castle church originally belonged, is now available to visitors as a meeting and information center. The castle went through some exciting times before the renovation, which was completed in 2016. Numerous conversions, fire, war and conversions have shaped the appearance of the castle including the castle church.
