The cultural center "Hof Ackerboom e.V." was founded in 1982 as a result of a citizens' initiative.
The city, as the owner, allows the association to use the historic farm (from 1768) with the main house, barn & former pigsty, as well as the courtyard garden & bakery, to hold cultural & other leisure activities & events for the general public. The association is also responsible for the renovation & restoration.
