Built in the style of the Royal Gardens of Europe, it is the largest square in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe.
To one side of the square is the popular pedestrian street of The Liston, with its French-style building lots (modeled after Rue de Rivoli in Paris) and numerous cafes.

Beautiful square with arcades, cafes and a cricket field ... The beauty of the Esplanada is due to the French, who not only provided for the planting from 1807 to 1814, but also created the "Liston". The arcade gallery with the cafes was built by the architect of the Rue Rivoli in Paris. The similarity with this famous street on the Seine also explains why Corfu town is sometimes called "Little Paris".

When in town, make sure to make a detour here. Whether it's a picnic in the park or a break in one of the many cafes ... There's a lot to see. Directly opposite is also the old fortress. In the immediate vicinity are also the Museum of Asian Art and of course the old town.
