Once you reach the top of the old fortress, you have a fantastic view. If the weather is clear, you can see not only the roofs of the city from here, but with a bit of luck, the Greek mainland and the Pantokrator mountains to the north. A viewing platform about 72 meters high welcomes guests at the top of the old fortress.
At the very top is the Ákra Síderos lighthouse from the 19th century. It is considered the oldest lighthouse of its kind still in operation, as well as a large steel cross.
