Hochdorf Castle was built in 1710 as a baroque country castle by the then local lord Philipp Heinrich von Ticino. The castle church (today's St. Michael's Church) and the former sheepfold form a kind of courtyard in front of the castle.
The main building is now the headquarters of the Berthold Leibinger Foundation, which promotes cultural, scientific, church and social issues.
St. Michael's Church was first mentioned over 1,200 years ago, with the current building being built around 1500.

Mountain biking

Hochdorf Castle was built in 1709 by Philipp Heinrich von Tessin on a previous building. In 1819, it was extensively remodeled in the classicist style, which still characterizes the design today.
