Roman East Fort Welzheim

This freely accessible, free, open-air museum provides detailed information about Roman life on the Limes, as well as the architecture and beliefs of the time. The Limes itself is also described here.

The Ostkastell Welzheim in the Rems-Murr district, with its open-air area of an archaeological park, offers the ideal place for conveying Roman history on your own doorstep. The reconstructions and stone sculptures complement the information signs for a perfect introduction to everyday Roman life. In addition, a visit to the east fort during an event can become a journey back in time to Roman times.
