Only a heavily dilapidated residential tower with a square floor plan remains of the castle complex. Its construction is estimated to date back to the second half of the 15th century to the beginning of the 16th century.

The name Suitbertstein was adopted from local usage.

The Wolfen von Sponheim family are considered the likely builders, as three members of this knightly family were enfeoffed with Dörrebach and Seibersbach by the Archbishopric of Mainz in 1425.

Due to the unusual location of the residential tower, directly adjacent to a higher rocky outcrop, it cannot have been a fortress. Given the topography, potential enemies would have had a significant advantage in the event of an attack. According to oral tradition, the structure also served as a kind of prison. A document mentions that the Wolfen von Sponheim family imprisoned a criminal in the "tower."

Despite the ongoing decay, the walls are still preserved to a height of 12 meters. Around the tower lie rubble stones that have broken off from the masonry and fallen over the years. Therefore, the area is extensively fenced off, as there is still a risk of collapse. Entry by unauthorized persons is strictly prohibited.

Small but beautiful and varied circuit on the "coal mountain" near Dörrebach. With numerous variation options.

Even if there is not much left, it is still impressive when the ruin suddenly appears
