Wilhelminenplatz with a monument (obelisk, 1902) for Grand Duchess Alice, daughter of Queen Victoria and Grand Duke Ludwig IV of Hesse. The British princess married into the grand ducal court and was committed to public health care. Behind it is St. Ludwig, 1822-1827, by Georg Moller. The classicist building is based on the architecture of a pantheon.
