The Melitabrunnen was taken in 1894 and was a wedding present for the first wife of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, Grand Duchess Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Nice little fountain with drinking water quality.In addition, the small stream and rest area offer a great opportunity for children to play and take a break. (Don't forget rain or mud pants and rubber boots.)

During the first visit we met three people who filled two boxes with water because the well water is so low in lime and therefore ideal for making tea and is also monitored by the health department.
This is a nice resting place with seating.

The water is delicious. Here I met a couple that filled 3 canisters, because the water was, in contrast to the gutterstadt tap water, lime-poor.
