Remains of an old weir, that water was diverted into a ditch system.

There is background information about this weir on a board:
"You are standing here in front of the remains of an old weir that was built in the second half of the 19th century. Why was the Düssel dammed? The water was diverted through the weir into a ditch system from which the surrounding meadows were irrigated. The Farmers called this “rafting” and the ditches were called “raft ditches.”

Really beautiful place on the creek with a sandy beach and when the sun is shining the light breaks almost romantically through the canopy.
