At this place stood until 1901 an old Erdhollander mill, which was the victim of a fire. The favorable location was used again to build a large Galerieholländerwindmühle in a two-year construction period from 1902 to 1904. The baseline can still be seen in and around the present building.

Until 1954 flour of all kinds and varieties was ground with the power of the wind. In order to continue to operate the mill in calm weather, until 1940 a steam boiler gave additional driving power. After replacement of the boiler, the additional operation was carried out by an electric motor. The necessary, but not carried out reconstruction of the wind wings, made it necessary to grind from 1954 exclusively with the electric power.

In 1960, the mill was taken over by the LPG of the place. It was mainly used for the production of compound feed. In 1972, the doors were closed and it took almost a decade to bring life back to the historic landmark of the small town.

In 1980 Klütz celebrated its 750th anniversary. At that time, the idea arose to preserve the Klützer mill, which is a listed building, and to use it as a dining facility. Many diligent citizens initially made sure that the mill was saved from further decay. In 1987, the town council appointed and confirmed a mill operator who then acted on behalf of the council.

In the individual floors, beams had to be replaced and new ceilings and walls had to be pulled.

On the first floor there is a terrace, the former gallery. It offers guests a wonderful view of the surroundings of the city as far as the Baltic Sea.

The annex houses the economic wing, the sanitary facilities and a bowling alley.
