The Festonallee at Bothmer Castle is an avenue of lime trees, the trees of which have grown like trellises. Especially in spring it is a magical sight for the visitor when the trees have their fresh leaves. It is therefore no wonder that it is one of the most photographed avenues in northwest Mecklenburg.

A special kind of garden monument is the 270 meter long unique Feston avenue made from Dutch linden trees. Their name is derived from the French word "Feston" (garland) and describes the way in which the trees are connected to one another in the form of ornaments or garlands. The castle and park are in a flat depression and are harmoniously embedded in the charming landscape of the Klützer Winkel. The park is designed as an English landscape garden that takes nature as its model and was designed in such a way that it integrated into the existing landscape.
