This sandstone border marker from 1819 is located at the entrance to the Ringsloot campsite in France. On the Belgian side there is a café: au trois chaussers. This border marker is a witness to the short period from 1815 to 1830 that the Netherlands bordered France. In 1815 the Treaty of Paris was signed, which put an end to the Napoleonic Wars. In 1830 Belgium broke away from the Netherlands and from that moment on this border marker indicates the border between France and Belgium.
