The lonely forester's lodge on the edge of the forest east of Arheilgen has become widely known as a romantically located, much-visited forest restaurant in recent years. After the forester's refreshment center at the Koberstädter Falltorhaus has passed, visitors to the northern city forests will finally have the opportunity to stop at the “Kalkofen”.

The forester's house Kalkofen is idyllically situated in the middle of the fields in Darmstadt-Arheilgen. It is a good idea to go there by bike, but it is also very easy to get to by car. There are enough parking spaces. There is a restaurant and some animals such as peacocks for the children to see. The area offers enough space for day trippers. Always recommendable.
