Badenburg Castle and Restaurant

Cozy restaurant, for a little break in between only recommended

Not only for in between the restaurant is recommended, also festivals and celebrations. Only you should book in advance. ☺

The Niederungsburg (Uferburg) is located on the banks of the Lahn, slightly above the rapids there.
The castle fell into disrepair after the Thirty Years' War and was used in the 18th and 19th centuries as a smithy, accommodation for shepherds and from 1760 as a well-known inn.
With the construction of the Main-Weser Railway, which runs parallel to the Lahn, which lies here in a deep cut, part of the historic garden of the castle was destroyed. In 1975 the castle and the inn were renovated - not entirely taking into account the historical facilities.
