Only 103 years later, a citizens' initiative was formed to build a new church. A construction fund was founded, which was managed by the church construction association. On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the death of the Reformer in 1846, the club gave the name Luther-Verein. However, it took nearly five decades before the desire of the population for a large church new construction came true (Wikipedia).
