Built in 1940 for the Exposition of the Portuguese World, it is one of the largest and most beautiful public spaces in Lisbon. It serves as a point of union between the Jerónimos Monastery and the Tagus, allowing the beauty of the monument to be enhanced. It stands out for its manicured hedges and monumental fountains that are illuminated at dusk, creating an attractive spectacle and offering a good excuse to return to this area of Belém at night.

This area is just beautiful with two UNESCO World Heritage Sites to see in Jeronimo's Monastery and Belem Tower. Along with the gardens and the war museum near Belem tower there is easily enough here for a day.
