All the pictures on the dike or the Este River are not from Buxtehude, but from the towns of Moorende and Estebrügge – they are therefore incorrectly categorized under the heading "Buxtehude's Old Town." However, they are quickly accessible by bike from Buxtehude.
"Old Town" is, in my opinion, a bit of an exaggeration for the center of Estebrügge, but it is the town center with many well-preserved old (half-timbered) houses, some of which stand on the Este dike. The newly renovated church with its ceiling paintings is also worth a visit.
