Cycling

A lovely place with a splendid view at the city of Roeselare. If you go uphill the other way, you'll arrive in the Huweyn woods. Very nice to go for a hike, or take a predefined single track through the woods with your mountainbike. Opportunities to rest and have a picknick. Information boards available on the cross roads.

Situated on the corner with Vliekaertstraat. so-called "Mahieus" or "Heihoek chapel" dedicated to Our Lady, built by order of Mrs. Mahieu-Tack (Roeselare) and inaugurated in 1906. Five-sided plan with rectangular closure. Combination of polygonal, slate roof crowned with a roof turret - provided with wrought iron cross and weather vane - and hipped roof (slate). Yellow brick construction on a bluestone plinth. Eclectic house of worship with neo-Gothic influence, characterised by cut diagonal buttresses, round arch and dentil frieze, and pointed arch windows.
