At the Kalksee, on the site of the today's Rehaklinik and on the opposite lake shore, stood about 100 years ago large parts of the scenes of Joe May Film GmbH. Films like The Tiger of Eschnapur or The Indian Tomb have been filmed here. A number of even today famous actors started their professional career here. More detailed information can be obtained by visiting the observation tower on the Kranichberg.

The observation tower should definitely visit, you do something for his health and the entrance is with 2 € (I think) for the view and the attached museum downright cheap!
